Arrival to Istanbul

Day 1- You will meet your driver at Istanbul Airport after a 20 minutes ride you will get your hotel. Free afternon in İstanbul.

 

Day 2- İstanbul

After having breakfast, our first destination is going to be Spice bazar second biggest coverd bazaar in İstanbul after Grand bazaar. Spice Bazaar is also called ‘Egyptian Bazaar’ because it was built with the revenues from the Otoman state of Egypt in 1660. Then we will  embark on a scenic tour of the Bosphorus, the naturel waterway that divides Asia Continent from Europe Continent. After having lunch we will head for Dolmabahçe Palace  which served as the main administrative center of the Otoman Empire(1856 to1922), with 365 rooms and 22 saloon. Following this our last stop will be Çamlıca Hill which is very famous with its panoramic view of İstanbul and Bosphorus.

End of the day, drive back to your hotel. diner and overnight in İstanbul.

 

Day 3- İstanbul

 

The first destination of us will be Byzantine Hippodrome. The hippodrome was built in Roman period (203A.D.)  by the order of Emperor Septimius Severus, and started to be used as an arena for charriot races and other entertainment.  İn 324 after the arrival of Emperor Constantine the Great,  the Hippodrome got his final shape. Following this we will head to The Blue Mosque which took its name from its blue tiles surrounding the walls of interior design , was built between 1609-1616 during the rule of  Ahmet l. . Although The Blue Mosque has tourist attraction, it’s also an active mosque. Afterward  we will visit  Hagia Sophia Museum which was chosen A world heritage site by UNESCOİn 1985. Hagia Sophia was built by the order of Emperor Justinian in 537, following 900 years Hagia Sophia had been the centre of Orthodox Christianity. After İstanbul conquered by Ottoman Empire, it had been used as the grand mosque of the sultans. Finally in 1935 Hagia Sophia was converted into a museum of Turkish Republic by the ordes of Ataturk. After having lunch  we will explore Topkapı Palace which is a museum tooday with its unrivalled collections of jewelry, including the Spoonmaker's Diamond; the 3 rd largest in the world, Ottoman Court Costumes and ceramics.İnterestingly, some of the ceramics have a special glaze that was said to change color in the presence of poison. We will also visit the Ipmerial Armony with centenary Ottoman weaponry.  As an final destination you will pay a visit to Grand Bazaar( Kapalı Çarşı in Turkish) is the largest covered market in Turkey it has 4000 shops, among them ; Turkish Carpet Shops, Leather Shops, Souvenier Shops, Jewelry Shops plus Restaurants that allow you have lunch in the midst of your shopping..

End of the day, drive back to your hotel. diner and overnight in İstanbul.

 

Day 4- İstanbul,Çanakkale

 

After having an early breakfast we will  drive to Gallipoli Peninsula where world war 1. took place. After visiting the martydoms of Turkish and Anzac soldiers we will drive to Troy ancient city where famous Trojan war took place.  After visiting the city of Troy with nine inhabitation levels covering a period of 3000 years and exploring Megaron Houses we will head to  our hotel İn Çanakkale. Diner and overnight in Çanakkale.

 

Day 5 . Çanakkale, Pergamon, Kuşadası

 

After having breakfast  we will head for Ancient Pergamon which is cited in the Book of Revelation as one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor. İt is 2.5 hours ride from Kuşadası. As we get in Pergamon first stop of us will be Asclepium ; the biggest hospital of the Ancient World and the Sanctuary of Asclepius, the God of Healing. After your tour guide tell you the signifigance of the site you will visit The Acropolis of Ancient Pergamon with its remnant date back to Hellenistic and Roman period
The function of Acropolis in Pergamon was newer the same as the function of the acropolis in Athens. İn Athens, everything was focused on religion, where as in Pergamon it was on social and culturel activities. The buildings had large areas for the public where they could walk, meet and join in social affairs. Following this we will visit The Temple of Serapis which is known today as the 'Red Basillica'. Red Basillica was one of the Seven Churches to which the book of revelation was adressed. Drive back to hotel İn Kuşadası. Diner and overnight in Kuşadası.

 

Day 6- Kuşadası, Ephesus, Kuşadası

 

After breakfast  we will drive to Ephesus  which is very well protected  an ancient city. The library, Temple of Hadrian, Agora, Odeon, The Grand Theatre… following this we will visit the House of Mother Mary where is thought that she spent her last years. Afterward our next stop will be the Church  of St. John   then  the Museum of Ephesus and finally we will visit the temple of Artemis which is recognised one of the  Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Drive back to hotel. Diner and overnight in Kuşadası.

 

Day 7- Kuşadası, Pamukkale

 

Following will head for Pamukkale Town of Denizli Province where Hierapolis and The Travertines located in. Hiearapolis was founded on the top of the travertines of Pamukkale. We will enter into the city of Hierapolis where your guide will give you information about the remnants left from Roman period ,among them; Theatre, Temple of Apollo, Pool of Cleopatra,Necrapolis( the biggest cemetery of the ancient world). After visiting the all remnants we will get the entrance of the travertines of pamukkale where you will have free time. Drive to hotel. Diner and overnight in Pamukkale town.

 

Day 8- Pamukkale, Antalya

 

After having our breakfast we will drive to Antalya. Today the only stop of  will be Antalya Museum which is one of the most important museum of Turkey that won ‘European Council special Prize’ in 1988. It includes 13 exhibition halls and an open air gallery. İt covers an area of 7000 m2 (75000 sq ft) and has 5000 works of art have been exhibited since 1985. following museum is driving back to hotel in Antalya.  Diner and overnight in Antalya.

 

Day 9- Antalya

Our first stop will be Perge Ancient city where Aposle Paul preached his first sermon. As we walk throught the city we will discover the remnats. Amon them; U shape theatre, Church, Main street collonaded with shops on both sides, Roman Bath and Gymnasium. Following this we will visit Aspendos Ancient City.  Aspendos famous for its best-preserved ancient amphitheatre with its incredible acoustics, built in 2nd century AD. Drive back to hotel. Diner and overnight in hotel.

 

Day 10 Antalya, Konya, Cappadocia

After having an early breakfast we will drive to Konya to  visit the mouseleum of Mevlana. Following this we will have lunch then on the way to Cappadocia we will visit Sultanhan Caravanserai which is one of the station for traders to supply their accomodation on the ancient Silk Road.  Drive to Cappadocia. Diner and overnight in Cappadocia.

 

Day 11- Cappadocia

We will drive to Uchisar Castle , the highest point of the region where we  have a fabulous panaromik view over Cappadocia. Following this we will visit Goreme Open Air Museum that contains the finest of the rock –cut churches , with beautiful frescoes( wall paintings) whose colors stil retain all their original freshness. Next we will explore to Kaymaklı  Under Ground City which is the widest underground city of Cappadocia region, it was carved underneath  a rock hill. Then we will have lunch in Avanos town that popular with its pottery production dates back to Hittites.  End of the day . Drive back to hotel.  Diner and overnight in Cappadocia.

 

Day 12- Cappadocia, Ankara

 

After having breakfast  we will drive to Ankara , the capital of Turkish Republic. The foundation of the city dates back to 3th century B.C. In Ankara first stop will be the  Mausoleum of  Ataturk( founder of Turkish Republic). Next we will pay a visit to Anatolian Civilization  Museum.one of the oldest museum of Turkey where remnents dates back to Paleolithic,  neolithic, chalcolitic periods.  Drive to hotel in Ankara. Diner and overnight in Ankara.

 

Day 13- Ankara, İstanbul

After having breakfast transfer to Ankara Airport for flight to İstanbul. Then transfer to hotel İn İstanbul. Free at leisure, overnight in İstanbul.

 

Day 14- İstanbul

Transfer to İstanbul Airport for flight back home..
